They disregard your feelings. They know exactly what to say to everyone to get them to like them. Sociopaths are compulsive liars because it's in their nature.
But if a person puts a creepy and unnatural amount of focus on you, then suddenly leaves you, they might be a sociopath. They seem to have friends, but they're often alone. This thing you have is just starting, and you're feeling good about it.
They won't take responsibility for it either. But when you're in a relationship, you're not amused when he pays more attention to your friends and dismisses the fact that you're supposed to be there together. You're talking and sharing things about you, then somehow it always ends back on him. The conversation is flowing, but it's totally imbalanced. You get blamed even for their faults.
You don't think even they believe what they're saying. They don't seem to know what makes you upset or why. He is mean, and he is a dick. You want to push it in the right direction, because you like this guy and want him to stick around. It's only polite, rich guy dating and this isn't a one-night stand.

They lie to make themselves look good. Sociopaths are sometimes terminally unemployed. Fake nice guys can always manipulate the situation. They're seemingly shy but overly confident.
But you don't hear from him the next day or for days after. You're evoking a defensive response in him for a reason. With so many alleged sociopaths around, and with their charming nature, it can be hard to know one when you see them.
They can't seem to hold down a job because of their attitudes and will blame it on everyone but themselves. When he's out and about, you're supposed to be too. All he hears is something he's heard before.
They're spending your money. But sociopaths tend not to have a lot of real friends because of how self-involved they are and how often they hurt people. He gets pissed when you imply he's not nice. He likes to talk but doesn't like to listen.
He seems nice, but he's not. Even if you do catch them in one of their famous lies, you can't seem to be mad at them for long because a sociopath will charm you out if it. And this isn't something that's going to change.
Nothing is ever their fault and blame is easily pushed off of them on to you. You can't seem to stay mad at them. Sociopaths are so self-involved that they will frequently forget things that have to do with other people.

If someone is way into you picking up the check or has no problem using your credit cards, they might be a sociopath. The bartender sure loves him, but you're not quite sure if you do. Sociopaths are generally known as charming, but if you cross them, you'll know why they don't keep people around for too long. If they feel they've been betrayed or lied to, they will go to sometimes extreme lengths seeking revenge.
